ropechair

The Ropechair by Riki Watanabe had affordability and effective use of materials as it`s core concept. In this spirit and without changing too much from the original design to keep the identity, the ropechair was reapproached and updated to fit 21st century needs.

To make a chair affordable today, it has to be produced in large quantities and ideally should be shippable across the globe. In order to accommodate that, all components of the new ropechair are fit to be assembled and disassembled numerous times with a single tool to not only work as a flatpack furniture piece but also be easily movable for the user.
